The Hobart Guitar Society

Welcome to the Hobart Guitar Society

The Hobart Guitar Society is based in the capital city of Tasmania, Australia's southernmost state, and its membership includes people from around the island with a wide range of guitar-related interests. Visitors and new members are always welcome. Meetings are held on the first Sunday of each month from 2.00 to 4.00pm at the Newtown Primary School Hall, Forster Street, Newtown.

Upcoming Events

Guest speaker Brett Rutherford, member of the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, teacher and performer of the bass viola da gamba

2.00 pm Sunday 6 July, Newtown Primary School

Brett will give a talk on the viola da gamba, and will also give a demonstration of the instrument. All members welcome. Tea, coffee and cake will be provided during the break.

Concert with Daniel McKay

Saturday 9 August, UTas Conservatorium of Music Concert Hall. Time to be advised.

Brilliant young Australian guitarist Daniel McKay will be presenting a public concert at the Con. More details closer to the date. Check out Daniel's website for his bio, details.of CDs etc.
